We Matter Community Association (WMCA) is a Black-led grassroots group in Prichard, Alabama, working to address environmental harm and improve life for its majority-Black community. Formed after a 2008 chemical leak, WMCA now leads efforts around the water crisis, pushing for accountability and resources. Through community meetings, coalition-building, and resident support, WMCA confronts systemic neglect and fights for health, safety, and justice.
